ARTIST BIO: RONALD WIMBERLY


Ronald Wimberly, the creative director on this project, is an award-winning American cartoonist, designer, and founder of LAAB, an annual art tabloid examining race, gender, identity, and visual culture. He has published several critically acclaimed graphic novels, as well as shorter works for The New Yorker, DC/ Vertigo, Nike, Marvel, and Dark Horse Comics.


Ronald Wimberly’s “The Best Laid Schemes”, channelling the feisty and formidable flavours of Ardbeg Wee Beastie, is a fast-paced neo-western featuring giant botanicals and even bigger beasts.

This cocktail is a ray of sunshine, but be careful – it has bite! Zesty and fresh, effervescent and smoky, inspired by “The Best Laid Plans”, this cocktail is not your average float.

BUY WEE BEASTIE

INGREDIENTS

45 ml Wee Beastie

15 ml Lemon Juice

30 ml Pineapple juice

15 ml Turmeric & Cumin Syrup

1 egg white

60 ml Olipop Ginger lemon Soda Olipop Ginger Lemon


SERVE

Shake all liquid ingredients (EXCEPT SODA) before adding ice, then shake for dilution with ice. Fine strain into Collins glass that has been rinsed with Absinthe & light ice (3-4 good cubes), then fill with soda.


GARNISH

3 drops Peychaud’s bitters
