TIMES CHANGE. ARDBEG REMAINS

When John McDougall, farmer and clan descendant of the Lords of the Isles, founded the Ardbeg Distillery in 1815, could he have ever envisaged where his whisky would be today? For Ardbeg is in cupboards, lockers, bars, drinks cabinets, collections and safes throughout the world. Moreover, it is in the heart and soul of every member of our 120,000 strong, global Ardbeg Committee.

It's been a rollercoaster of a journey getting here and whilst our beloved whisky is now worshipped all around the world, it's still made by hand, in a handful of buildings perched on Islay's rocky coast.

In fact, our founder and beloved fans would be reassured to know that while time marches on, we at Ardbeg promise to always maintain our craftsmanship, traditions, humanity and out of this world taste.
