My name is Michael Heads. As Distillery Manager here at Ardbeg and Chairman of the Ardbeg Committee, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website. Here you can find out more about Ardbeg, delve into our history and meet our people. It’s the next best thing to being here in person!

A long long time ago I worked briefly at this distillery, so it was with great excitement that I returned to my native Islay on the 10th anniversary of Ardbeg’s happy renaissance. I found it bursting with life. Many visitors say it is the most welcoming distillery in the world, and I must say I agree. The Old Kiln Cafe, shop and visitor centre are thriving under the care of Jackie, Mary and their happy crew. And the whisky that we’re laying down in Warehouse 3 isn’t so bad either!

Now, we can only carry on with this good work for as long as people keep drinking Ardbeg, and that’s where you come in! Our Committee was formed in order that fans can share their passion for Ardbeg with fellow enthusiasts all over the world, and spread the word about the delights of this unique, complex and mysterious malt whisky.
